http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/what-males-will-do/what-males-will-do... With a high-speed camera and vibrometer in his toolkit, researcher Damian Elias, featured in Part Two of "What Females Want and Males Will Do," is able to pick up on a courtship ritual few have ever seen before. He's discovered that male jumping spiders actually perform an elaborate dance — with coordinated vibrations, no less — to woo potential partners.

Part of the 28th season of the Peabody and Emmy award-winning series produced by Thirteen in association with WNET.ORG for PBS, "What Females Want and Males Will Do" airs over two Sundays, March 14 and 21, 2010 at 8 p.m. (check local listings). Major support provided by Canon U.S.A. Inc. For more information, visit http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/what-males-will-do/what-males-will-do...

  • @FreddieTL Better question: Who gives a fuck about who gets laid with who?

  • not so different from what human males at clubs do. find techniques to dance closer and get with a female...lol funny how similar this is..

  • @wesgriff1 He probably came up with peacock because of the Peacock Jumping Spider. The peacock jumping spider has a really crazy dance and visual display. Probably is considered to be the most facinating of all courtship displays when it comes to jumping spiders.

  • kinda feel bad for the glued female tho :(

  • singing and dancing spiders? thats some disney shit right there

  • I simply ADORE those cute little jumping spiders. This is really fascinating!

  • good but the amount of anthropomorphism from the narrator is a real disservice to the guy's research

  • cute!

  • amazing video

  • @wesgriff1 : I think he was referring to their dramatic, polychromatic, opalescent and colorful patterns.
