This is a limited reproduction issue of the 1903 cylinder recording by Enrico Caruso from Tosca "E lucevan le stelle" (And the stars were shining). Ready to be played on your acoustic phonograph!

The cylinder is an indestructible type and not made from wax. Played here on an Edison Home Phonograph with a 24" horn.

  • Extremely interesting video. Thanks for this posting.

  • very nice and original cylinder!

  • Absolutely terrific !!! That voice and the recording - historic. 5 stars.

  • All transcriptions I've heard of this recording previously were made from disks. Here the original cylinder, well reproduced, gives the whole spoken announcement, in what may well be Caruso's own speaking voice. Fascinating. Thank you.

  • Very nice edison suticase home a recording. I like how the music starts before the anouncement is over.

    Thanks

  • rare!

  • Imagine, from this to mp3 players has been a long way =-)
