  • Great composition

  • The"Apocalyptic," the Finale in particular, is a perfect melding of the infinite, the eternal, the tragic and the heroic. One of the most extraordinary musical creations to come from the mind and soul of any human being. As one wag put it, "Bruckner was God's thank-you note to humanity."

  • Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a cd of this performance? Or perhaps any other format?

  • @MrCowboyJesus ....sigh.

  • I love those first 45 seconds!

  • Well composed. Well performed, but seeing as how the composition is so demanding, I'm sure the composer's intentions were for this piece to be much more brash in the stalwart sections, while being much more melancholically performed overall.

  • All you guys badmouthing Bruckner need to reevaluate your musical knowledge.

  • Another master Hans Zimmer and John Williams ripped off. Don't get it twisted, I love HZ and JW...I'm just saying.

  • Brahms hated Bruckner's music. Personally I think Bruckner is far superior. Brahm's music sounds like something not written for human ears.

  • this says more in 5 minutes than 15 hours of wagnerian caterwauling about ribelningelungenslieder

  • whats sad is that this guy was good, but he didn't know it... he thought he sucked major ass. He continued to make needless revisions to his symphonies...works that are on par with the greatest composers ever born... but Bruckner thought that the works were the lowest of the low.

  • Just. The. Beginning.
