US Coastguard C130 crash with AH 1 Cobra attack helicopter,southern California

Today-6th november at 1100 hrs is the Memorial Service at CGAS Sacramento,6037 Price ave, Mclellan,Ca.,in honour of the 7 coastguard personnel that died ,and for the 2 military pilots.

The 9 missing are;
helicopter crew Major Samuel Leigh,35yrs and co pilot First Lt Thomas Claiborne,26yrs.
C130 crew Lt.Commander Che Barnes,35yrs,and co pilot Lt Adam Bryant,28yrs,
CPO John Siedman,43yrs,PO 2nd class Carl Grigoris,35yrs,and PO 2nd class Monica Beacham,29yrs, and PO 2nd class Jason Moletzsky,26yrs and PO 3rd class Danny Kreder,22yrs
R.I.P, our thoughts are with the families.

How did the crash happen?
doesn't each aircraft have RADAR and what about ATCer's. Aren't there flight paths strictly monitored?

some of them and their families are being seen in our MTF. one of them has a pregnant wife,also an active duty, is due to give birth on december and a 2 yr old son who is currently sick. it's a big loss not just for their respective branch of services but for the whole military as well.
there will be a memorial service on friday, 06nov09 in Coast Guard Air Station, Sacramento Ca for the service members who were lost in the line of duty.

I'm the neighbor of one of the women who were on the C-130 and we are devistated by this news. She is such a beautiful and friendly person. We're all holding hope that they will find her so she can come home to her daughter and husband.
