ok...... in a survival situation wouldnt it be beter to use the can to boil water? i made this can latern and to be honest it really didnt give off much light. but a neat idea nonetheless...

You certainly could use the can to boil water in and in a survival situation I would prioritize that over light. However I would try to boil more than 12oz at a time personally.
The lamp isn't a Coleman by any means but does get the job done.
