People power vs Amalgamation

On the 17th of April 2007 the Queensland Government in Australia announced the formation of a Local Government Reform Commission to make recommendations on the amalgamation of local governments in all areas of Queensland. The people of the Monto community wish to have thier voice heard.

It's a done deal my friend. We are to be amalgamated with 5 other shires to create one super shire 19,000 sq km. There are more vids of our Red Friday protest if you search this username. Thanks for actually caring enough to comment mate.

If the people of Queensland were genuinely angry over the improvements to local government why wasn't this an issue at the 2009 election?

You are so paranoid! I've bagged and mocked the Labor Party on in internet in the past and they've asked me if I'm a Liberal/National Party member. I suspect that you are both paid by the Qld Labour Party and if not you are gullible and have fallen for the lowest denominator "oh it must be political". Have you taken the time to do a little bit of research amongst people who are actually affected by amalgamation?
