It could have very well been explained in the movie, I can't recall tbh. Spielberg-esque..yes, it is a great film=D

It's been a while since I read the book, but if I remember correctly, Celie's father is the one who impregnates Celie. It's no surprise Spielberg didn't even mention this in the movie. That's very Spielberg-esque. Nice review.
