A movie made with a small super 8 camera 40 years ago. It was in North Yemen. Coming from Djibouti, we landed in Taiz, and we travelled by car from Taiz to Sanaa, via Jibla. Scenes of the countryside are very interesting.
At that time, Yemen was divided into two different countries : North Yemen (Sanaa) and South Yemen (Aden).

"This is by far one of the best videos of Yemen on Youtube. Not like the embarrasing vids these other lowlife yemenies put on here. Yemenies should be banned from youtube .MAYSH ALFEEN> I cant watch another vid of these scum bags workin at the liquerstore, Thumbs up if you agree. If you dont agree then 80bistumuk your prolly one of them."

  • @TempeB Thank you for your very nice comment. Just like you, I prefer to keep in mind the memories of 1971, and I'm not sure I'd like to go back there today.

  • This is fantastic!! I lived in Yemen (Taiz) from 1962 to 1965, and this shows the country exactly as I remember it, a beautiful and magical place. I am not sure that I'd want to visit Yemen today, since it has apparently changed so much. Thank you so much for sharing this, and helping my fading memories.

  • @aliengland : I have no video of South Yemen. As this part of Yemen was, at that time, under influence of USSR, it was quite difficult (and not recommanded) to French citizens like me to travel in South Yemen
