At the Nov. 25, 2008 meeting of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Jeff Stone introduced Ordinance 884 "regulating targeted residential protests". The Board voted 4-1 to proceed with introduction of the ordinance.

The international headquarters of the Church of Scientology are located at a compound called "Golden Era Productions", aka "Gold Base", in Gilman Hot Springs near Hemet, in Supervisor Jeff Stone's district.
