@BigMoch It is all set up for 3/4" plywood, thats why the 10x1 1/4 screws don't pop thru when attaching the 4"X5" pads for the legs.

@Clemdogsan, thanks for uploading this -- great idea, economical and easy to build. I was about to start building a shooting bench out of all 2-inch lumber -- folding legs out of crossed 2x4s on hinges. You're idea is easier and quicker to build and probably no more expensive, if not less expensive. Certainly it is "handier", lighter weight, and easier to transport. That's using the ol' noggin!

Trying to figure out the thickness of your bench..
BigMoch, use the thickest plywood you can find. I think I used 3/4" birch veneer plywood from Home Depot.

Big Joe, great ideas. Sounds pretty stable. I use a velcro rope/line keeper attached to the underside of the table to keep the legs from flopping around during transport & carry.

I found mine on Amazon. You can also google woodworker's supply.

you put your stiffener going the wrong direction to the stress your going to be putting on the table. Put a 2 x 3 on edge or a piece of right angle aluminum running front to back, that will help keep your table from sagging over time. The legs you found are a great idea. Now you got me wanting to make something like this. Happy shooting

@alderaforall Great idea! Thanks for the input. I think also its important to get a really nice grade, thick sheet of plywood, and seal it with paint or varnish to minimize the chances of warping.

Amaroq69,
I rarely notice the slight angle of the table, as it is most often on uneven ground, and I shoot over a Hughes Ballistic Shooting bag.
