  • Adobo my BALLS!

  • SUS maka-PA HIGHBLOOD hahahahahaha! Miss the Philippines.

  • @pcvietnameseboi a phillippino guy? its a quite common thing to have spanish inspired names there.

  • I think Augusto was perfect for this ep b/c he represents what so many Fil-Ams deal w/ growing up in the US. I had the chance to interact with Fil-Am college students in the US, & many of them expressed the same kind of yearning for their roots, & the feeling that they didn't quite belong. It's said that Fil-Ams have the highest suicide rate among Asian American youth in the US - how can you live when you don't know who u r? Something impt for us Filipinos - both here & abroad - to think about.

  • Unlike other Filipino kids in the US who are total pricks, Augusto is adorable because he wants to embrace the culture and the heritage of his people. Thumbs up, mga kababayans!

  • I admire Augusto and his love for the culture though. People might bash this episode for featuring a Fil-Am who is so clueless about the Philippines but I get it that this might be a little unusual. Other NR episodes featured natives who are gurus and experts in their local delicacies, while Augusto, on the other hand, is someone who was unfortunately brought up in the other side of the world, detached from his Filipino roots. I love how he wanted to get in touch with htat side of him.

  • @tinkermycolossus er, pampanga? i'm from negros but i wouldnt say that bacolod or someplace in the negros island is the culinary capital. yes we know how to eat well in Bacolod but I wouldnt say much of it is original. It's hispanic, very much so that even the names of the dishes are in Spanish. Pampanga, however, is just dfdsadfbs dacjbsdavbf. I could live there and gain 200 pounds.

  • @pcvietnameseboi well, it might be a variation of "Agosto" which means honorable or well-reputed. Filipinos can have really latin-sounding names since we were occupied by the Spaniards before. My name is Nonito, my brother's name is Luis, my mother is Maria Lourdes and so on so forth. Does that answer your question?
