Dorothy Dietrich woman escape artist magician Female Houdini on National TV. Late 80's or early 90's before she closed the Magic Towne House in NY to open The Houdini Museum, Tour & Magic Show in Scranton, PA. She does the challenge Bullet Catch with bullets brought in under guard bought by committee. Note the shot of the first bullet in the cement wall. She also is seen doing a stand up strait jacket escape, which she innovated. It is believed she was the first to do it this way, which is now standard. It was always done Houdini and Randi style, rolling on the floor. She felt it did not fit a woman so she developed this new presentation which is now done by everyone. First woman to gain prominence as an escape artist since the days of Houdini, breaking the glass ceiling for a woman in that field. She is doing the burning rope escape and a quickie version of sword thru neck. Dietrich is the first and only woman to accomplish the Catching of a Bullet in her mouth, often called "The Jinxed Bullet Catch". At least 12 men have died attempting this feat. Ms. Dietrich now holds the World's record in several categories. Dorothy Dietrich is often called "The Female Houdini" , "The World's #1 Female Magician" and was the first to be called "The First Lady of Magic".
