Maybe he didn't want to go through the paperwork it takes to get an auto, but I think you knew that. I'd venture a guess that his AK can't be switched to auto, if that's what you were thinking.

Cause to legally own a full auto ak requires a class 3 license which takes major background checks, paperwork, and taxes. Plus a full-auto AK costs about as much as a brand new car.

I got it for $400. Which isn't bad considering the synthetic stocks it came with normally cost $75-$125.
