Carter: So, Meredith, ready for your big acting debut in the school play?
Meredith: Yeah. But Im nervous. They told me not to injure myself but you know me!
Carter: Actually not that well. Ive only been here for three weeks.
Meredith: Oh. Well Im clumsy. Trust me my understudy will be in before you know it *sighs*.
(At this time Juliet comes in with Shay)
Juliet: Hey, whats going on? (She says this as she takes a CosmoGirl from the coffee table and plops down on the couch to read it)
Carter: Nothing, just Meredith saying how shes clumsy and that her understudy will be in before you know it, blahblahblah.
Juliet: (laughs) Thats so true! You know me and Meredith have known each other since the first grade right? We enroll in this school together.
Carter: No, Juliet. How could I have possibly known that?
Juliet: Well, now you do. In the fourth grade, we did a Christmas play and she had to do a little dance. Well, when she got up there, her elf shoe got tangled up in the microphone cord. She. Fell. Off. The. Stage.
Meredith: (fake laughs) Well enough of this comedy (as she says comedy she elbows Juliet in the ribs) Im going to go take a shower.
Shay: Later skater.
Sabrina: Later hater.
Carter: Later gator.
Juliet: Laterok can we stop this rhyming please Shakespeare?!
Meredith: (as she says this she is slowly edging toward the bathroom door)
Meredith: Im going to go take a shower, so I dont smell sour. But Ill smell like a flower. Be out in an hour!
Shay: Are you really gonna be that long cuz I might need to go and thats the only one we have.
Meredith: No, I was just looking for a rhyme to tick off Juliet.
Juliet: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Meredith: Hey, did you study for that test? Cuz I want you to do your best. Better than the rest. And you better get some rest. Dont want you to be stressed.
Juliet: Urgh! (runs up to the bathroom door but Meredith already got inside)
Juliet: And stop rhyming you Shakespeare knockoff! (turns back to Shay, Carter, and Sabrina) Well, Im going to the cafeteria for some coffee. Anyone coming?
Shay, Sabrina, and Carter: (sorta mumble) No.
Juliet: K, buhbye.
Sabrina: (after Juliet leaves) Wanna hide her CosmoGirl?
Shay and Carter: Oh, totally!
(10 minutes later the CosmoGirl is hidden in the freezer, Shay is flipping through TV channels, Carter is on the Internet, and Sabrina is playing with an orange)
From the bathroom: (kinda a slipping noise then,) THUMP!
(Shay, Carter, and Sabrina burst in the bathroom. Dont worry, Meredith was wrapped in a towel)
Meredith: Ow!
Carter: Ohmigosh are you okay?
Meredith: I dont think so. I hit my head and my ankle REALLY hurts.
Sabrina: Are you gonna be able to go on next week?
Meredith: (starts crying) No! And n-n-n-now my understudy will have to step in and I have the worst understudy ever!
Shay: Well, what are you gonna do?
Meredith: (dries up her tears and looks at Carter suspiciously)
(Three hours later)
Carter: So where are we going again?
Meredith: (limping) I called in a favor from my friend Al McGunchy. Hes a makeup artist. Hes gonna fix you up to look exactly like me.
Carter: WHAT?! So Im getting a total face makeover?
Meredith: Yup.
Carter: You told me we were getting beef jerky you jerky!
Meredith: If this works out, Ill get you boatloads of beef jerky, alrite?
Carter: Ok. But why cant Juliet or Shay or Sabrina do this? Why me?
Meredith: Because. They all have exams the next three weeks. New kids never have exams until theyve been here at least three months. Youve been here three weeks.
Carter: (unsurely) Ok
(After Al McGunchy is done)
Carter: Wow, Meredith! Im your exact double!
Meredith: Im not paying Al for anything less.
//I dont feel like explaining the next week before the play so Im just gonna skip to the end of the play)
(The entire cast takes a bow)
Carter: (thinking) Wow, this actually worked. I pulled off being Meredith for a whole week.
(back at the dorm)
Meredith: So, you ready to go back to being Carter Wright, Miss America?
Carter: Not yet. I think I like being Meredith!
Meredith: (laughs)
