The Elijah Interfaith Institute has held its forth bi-annual meeting of the Elijah Board of World Religious Leaders in Israel from October 18 - 22, 2009. The topic was "the future of religious leadership".
Aim of the interreligious conference was, to foster a deeper understanding, respect and appreciation for the other religions, to work on growing in awareness, forgivness and reaching out towards others, focusing on peace, while staying firm in its own religious roots...
The program of the Conference took place in Haifa, Galilee & Jerusalem. Leaders of the different major religions met for panel discussions, workshops, had prayer times, went to talk infront of and with the students of Haifa University and pupils of a Christian school. Several Holy Sights of different religions were visited and honored.
