A spectacular investment coin weighing 10 kilograms has been released by The Perth Mint.

Made from 99.9% pure silver, the large Australian Lunar bullion release celebrates the 2011 Year of the Rabbit.

This video shows part of the production process involved in making such a large Australian legal tender coin.

  • damn thats a big coin !!!!

  • I would hate to see the size of the soda machine that coin would fit into ;)

  • how will that fit in my pocket?

  • How can a 10 kg coin be set to 300$?

  • Lol. Yes, ill take one

  • @applesweeter I don't think collectors would buy this coin. I think its geared towards investors.

  • @TWSceptic Only 10 went to auction homie!

  • @TWSceptic Did you even watch the video?

  • Awesome. Yet, the premium on that fine piece of silver is sky high! Best to get it's little brother and get closer to spot. (Easier to carry as well...)

  • Where can I buy one please thanks

  • Where can you buy these can't find them anywhere :(

  • Why does the Perth mint stamp Chinese culture onto their coins? Is it because Australians don't have a culture of their own? :)

  • Can I buy a house with those coins!!!

  • very big silver coin for very rich collectors.

  • @StukityFarnsworth actually thats what they are called, Finger condoms... lol

  • @StukityFarnsworth The small 'condoms' are actually called finger cots and are available in boxes of a dozen or so, in assorted sizes - pinky to thumb - at many pharmacies, if not as stock items, certainly as special orders. I have used these to protect fingers with nasty cuts while showering or other situations where wearing a latex glove is undesirable or impractical.

  • @StukityFarnsworth LOL yes actually. Commonly called finger condoms - often used in the medical industry.

  • Looks very pretty but most of the Perth Mint coins are super expensive for the amount of silver in them.

  • @StukityFarnsworth

finger clots are what they are called

  • @philandjoelle :See? We didn't treat Australia right, so they swung over to the Chinese. Our government is stupider than snail waste.

  • @philandjoelle agree whole heartedly, we need guillotine fast

  • Nice!Need!!!

  • hay bullet proff $

walk into a shop "ya ill have a pk of gum please "
