(www.itecusa.org) The Maverick is a flying car in development by (Itec) Indigenous Peoples Technology and Education Center www.itecusa.org It is being developed to be used in the indigenous jungles of Ecuador and abroad. Easy to drive and easy to fly. Mast system solves many problems associated with crosswind and kiting issues that are found with conventional powered parachutes. The intuitive steering system (drive in the air with same controls as fly) is very easy to learn and understand. The Maverick has a single engine system for driving and flying. When the road ends it can fly over harsh terrain or hop over a river. Pilots- Troy Townsend and Steve Saint. Music by the Newsboys, Visit us at www.itecusa.org

  • What's it's max demonstrated crosswind?

  • In testing so far landing and take off about 13 kts at a 45 with predictability. We think about the same as a cessna 150 or 15kts.

  • Right now it looks like an ultralight, what is the difference?

  • Just my thought, but you can't really drive an ultralight around the village once you've landed?

  • sure you can, this thing is a dune buggy on the ground and a very practical way to get around.

  • An ultralight can only have one person, weigh 254lbs,carry 5 gal of fuel etc. this vehicle carries 4. 20 gal of fuel, etc.

  • This thing is fantastic!

  • @itecusavideo it would if the center pole(which i think is pure genius) was retractable, sort of the same way a convertable is but instead of a roof u go aloof! good video! i will be watching your progress as well as the SKIES!!!

  • Ok, nice video of the Amazon. Your project is nice. Greetings from UNASUR!!!

  • This is amazing, I couldn't just put down Popular Mechanics after reading about this car: I had to see it for myself. All I can say is: If I don't get to fly over beautiful scenery with this car at least once in my life, I will not be satisfied. The concept is just so simplistic and freeing. Maybe I should apply for that job delivering medicine in the Amazon?

  • great music!!

  • Oh okay, awesome!
