I went to this exhibition in July 2011 with a mate, who is quite old school and hated her, although he admitted it was an eye opener in a cynical way.

I found the video she filmed discussing her miscarriage/still born was absolutley horrific and very sad.

I dont know why some people hate Tracy Emin and are so nasty about her - what she done thats so wrong?? Maybe its jealousy because she is so successful, maybe its because she might be seen by some as having quite an ugly face?

Her youthful cute looks now slowly fading, her art remains. Her drawings? Her neons? The rickety installations? Deep down she knows the answer, i'm sure. Is the personal story more important than the art ? Lots of IF's not many certitudes.

@ThePellerhead Granted, the phrase "In your opinion" is a statement of fact. However it is also - in the context of a reply on a comment thread - unimaginative. In my opinion Hirst's contribution to British art will far outweigh that of Emin. I agree that his solo paintings are amateurish and the works painted by his assistants are fatally compromised, but his early installations (from the 1990s) were genuinly innovative and profound. They will ensure his lasting reputation.

@chizulch4 how can in your opinion be unimaginitvie when its simply a statement of fact?! its your opinion!! and in my opinion Damien hurst would be the most tedius least talented, he just doesnt get the focus emin does because she just goes out there and does what ever she does, atleast emin does her own work and doesnt steal off others, damien hurst i find to be disenguious or however you spell it.

@ThePellerhead I have no problem with people expressing their opinions. I just find the comment "In your opinion" to be highly unimaginative. You misunderstood the "?"in my original comment. I was seeking opinions on who the most tedious, least talented "celebrity" artist might be. There are other candidates. Personally, I think Emin wins it by a mile.
