Still affects me...My Dad left three children 12, 11 and 6 yrs old for a woman of only 20.He has missed most of my life and does not know his grandchildren hardly at all.My Mum only let go of him the last 10 yrs really.Glad she is happy now.Feel sad for my Dad though and all he has missed. His young wife once said that she wished we did not exist.Dad has to do everything for her now because she became ill and never fully recovered. He is her carer and he is 12 yrs older. Will always love my Dad x.

Break ups traumatic for children. It's beyond their comprehension.
I'll never forget the night my wife asked me to pack up, my two little kids
were all over me begging not to leave.
I thank God for giving me the strength and means to look after them.
The video cries for itself.

I cry everytime I hear this, I think of when I was little when it came out, now my boys are grown with kids of their own and i cry for them!!!!!! OMG one sad song

This was one of my favorite songs as a pre-schooler. At the time, the only thing I understood the chorus. Little did I know how prophetic it would become.

This came out when my parents split up, not only did I lose my Dad, but the kids at school weren't allowed to play with me because my parents had split up like it was a disease you could catch or something. No one thinks of the kids, it sucks and 42 years later I can say it definitely had a major affect on my life. Think of the kids people!!!!

i just love this song. i have not been in the shoes of those that have, but it sure brings tears to my eyes thinking of little ones losing their father or even mother through divorce.
I may be a tough old bastard with a couple hundred scars and grease under my fingernails, but, I'm also a parent. How could a father not listen to this and tear-up? I vividly remember when my parents separated and my little sister followed my Dad out into the driveway and begged him not to leave. Heartbreaking. They got back together, but, I'll never forget the pain of feeling my family was falling apart. My wife and I vowed it wouldn't happen to us, for the sake of our kids.
