After a year in design and building, Franklin Township Fire Departments newest engine, a Custom Cab Sutphen, arrives home to Station 55 in Rowan County NC. I apologize for the shakiness of the video, it was a cold day and a handheld camera. The truck committee did a great job spec'ing the truck out, keeping the members updated on her progress and then traveling to Ohio to pick her up and bring her home.

  • Pierce and international are the best for me

  • @CFDPaul By the way, where did you learn how to spell.............

  • @CFDPaul Just like chevy, ford, dodge all say they are number 1. Pierce may be #1 because they are the largest. Biggest isn't always best. I have operated Pierce, ALF old school and new , Seagrave, Mack, Ottowa-Beck, Maxim, Hahn and Sutphen. I have had 27 years as a Volunteer, 23 years as a Career Firefighter, have served on truck committees, And I speaking from experience, facts, and being around the block a few times feel that SUTPHEN has served me and my Departments the best.

  • @bed928 then y does pierce have number 1 areal technision and abilities in the world

  • sutphen towers will do circles around a pierce truck, EXPERIENCE speaks for it self. all apparatus have to conform to federal standards. besides, they all use the same engines, transmissions, pumps ect. so beauty is only skin deep.

  • yes but is price more important or is safety more important, pierce is the safest firetruck known to mand

  • Pierce is way too high in price even though they build a nice truck. Sutphen is affordable in price, they let you spec the truck any way you want, and I haven't heard of any fire dept. having problems with them.

  • Maybe your statesville dude has a badly taken care of truck or just, doesn't' like em period. South Salisbury has a Sutphen engine and ladder and they love them. So I think really it's just dpt preference and how the engine is maintained really.

  • im sorry but shoulda gone with pirce my junior leader drives a sutphen for a living in statesville and he says they are horrible
