Paavo Surprises Fan at Starbucks - Ventura, CA 05/18/2008

Paavo Lötjönen from Apocalyptica surprises a fan (Linda West from www.lindawest.com) playing a cello outside of Starbucks by the Majestic Ventura Theatre in Ventura, CA on 5/18/2008. I wish I hadn't shut off the camera at the end, it was a very beautiful impromptu performance.

Paavo is so awesome. But - i'm sorry to say that, the way u play The Swan sounds pretty horrible. maybe it's just the video, but...arg i mean i played that when i was 12 and it sounded way better...

@NtrMssionHurricane heh, well in his defense, this was ridiculously off-the-cuff. Literally getting Starbucks, saw the cello, and thought it would make a cool "moment" for a fan. Considering it's still being talked about near 4 years later, I think it worked out pretty well! :)

The old lady was looking at my Apocalyptica shirt with the skull-cello and angel wings. So when she said "I thought that was a bird!" that's what she's referring to.

I like Paavo more than the other guys. He's got more meat on him...I like meat. =) My dad's girlfriend thinks he's cute! Plus, I think he's under-credited and underestimated. Who knows? He might not be able to play as fast as Perttu, or compose as many songs as Eicca, but he plays beautifully. They need to find a way to showcase that talent he's got.
