NOAH PURIFOY (1917-2004) He moved from Los Angeles to Joshua Tree, CA in 1989 to create a lifelong dream of an outdoor sculpture garden along a lonely road, left to posterity to this very day (Andi Parham, 2007).
I have been to Noah's site and it is amazing how the desert is doing such an efficient job of re-claiming the elements that comprise his artwork. I think that is how Noah wanted it to be. He was a true ambassador between people of all descriptions...white, black, affluent, impoverished, urban and remote. He was a true genius and an inspiration to me.
