you can turn the flash off. You can turn the dial to the mode that indicates a flash off signal. Or you could learn how to use the other mode like the aperturep or shutter priority or even the manual where you have full control of your camera settings. Finally you can stick with the program mode wich again does not activate the pop up flash unless you want it and it will help you learn your camera better.

different cameras, a dslr gives you a lot more capabilities as you can use a vast variety of lenses. A super zoom will be limiting u if u start geting more into photo graphy and it will suffer from distorsion and abberation.
