Gypsy is a word that is short for Egyptian. The Europeans thought the Romani were Egyptian the same way I have known Europeans of today mistake Egyptian in Europe as being Indian as the two look very similar in appearance. If I started painting a dishonest picture of the country of Hungary, then see how many people from the country of Magyarország go up in arms. Get realistic and learn to see from others perspective. It may just b a name 2 u but to us its our whole identity that is tarnished.

A gypsy is a wanderer, the Romani are a culture group.
Rom hate the name gypsy, as if it's been tainted but fight and defend it.
So like I said. Gypsys are wanderers, nomads, and there are many, many bands of people in the middle east called gypsies too.
Pull the stick out of your rear end and make up your mind what you want me to call you already, will you?

please drop the "gypsy" as this has absolutely no connection with Romani (Gypsy) people and is totally politically incorrect. Please show some respect. It like painting your face with black shoe polish and calling yourself black shoeshiners. The difference is that blacks did once clean shoes for whites. Romani have never danced or dressed like this.

Thanks :) We're glad you like it! The song is "Desert Queen" by Mosavo on the Desert Passage CD. This was at Nouveau Nights in Oakland, CA in March of 2007.
