  • its amazing the difference canned laughter makes

  • Firstly, I absolutely loved this

The series has never used canned laughter; it's always been in front of a live audience, although for series 7 they filmed it outside the studio and played it back in front of a live audience.

I don't see why it would have added much more to the budget to invite 50 or so people in to watch it in front of a screen. I can see what people mean about dry silence. I don't think it works for Red Dwarf, not because I need a cue to laugh, because it's how I remember it

  • This was so amazing. I can't wait til Dave makes the next series! (Which they will be filming in front of a live studio audience, you'll all be happy to know, hehe)

  • Cats shiny purple diving suit is awesome! lol

  • The scene where they are going under water feels just like one of the old Red Dwarf series, which I like ALOT :)

I do miss the laughter tho, it seems to quiet without it

  • The laughter, canned or not, is sorely missed. It takes away from what should be a joyous rapture with the return of this series.

  • @Randki i seen a couple, watch the pilot for 'the mighty boosh' its so weird.

  • Wow, Ive never seen a show that so obviously needs a laugh track.

  • Red Dwarf is 1 of da funniest Brit comedys iv seen

  • they totally needed to put the laugh track on.. I miss it!!

  • even though there's no laughter, they perform their lines as if they are giving an audience time to laugh

  • I miss the laughter too. But it good to see them do this. I'm an American Red Dwarf fan.
