  • I really love your videos they are very good i myself am a christian and have been for over a year but recently i have felt like there i a huge wall beetween god and i and i dont know what to do. i have been talking to my school counsellor a bit but its not helping that much right now.

  • First, be sure you are a Christian. Then read 2 Corinthians 1 and also the Psalms. Remember that David and Jesus felt God was far away in Psalm 22:1

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?"

Believe: "Draw near to God and he will draw near to you." When you feel far from God, humble yourself and He will lift you up. This is how God makes us more holy: through times of stress suffering depression, if we seek His face.

  • Thanks NadNeek, a good clear video about a very important issue affecting thousands around the world in one way or another.

The only thing I would add the following two points:

    1) be aware of the context. People can experience substantial depression based on circumstance that is not clinical, but is passing.

    2) if you can, ask if they have a history of harming themselves. A history of attempts increases risk.

    3) do not decide if someone is suicidal or self-harms. Let a professional

  • Most suicidal peple do not or will not go to a professional. What I am trying to do with this video is to educate the general public so that they can identify the signs of depression and then ask the hard question: "Have you thought of harming yourself or taking your own life?" If "yes" or "I don't know," ask if they have thought about how. If the answer is yes, then get a contract or stay with them until you can contact police, or still better offer to take them to the emergency room.

  • Your position on suicide here is not helpful, offensive and wrong. Suicide is NOT just for weak people. Depression is a real illness that can affect anyone, even you, at some stage. If this were to deepen enough it may develop into suicide ideation - this even happens to strong individuals.

Read, learn, and empathise, then rethink your values.

  • Delusions and especially irrationality is another symptom, otherwise I may agree with you except how common you make it seem... Ca is actually worst at 11.3/100,000 vs 11.0 in the US (I guess the extra .3 are added to murders). Next, ignore lesbians as they are more accepted than gay boys, while for girls the problem is pregnancy. So ask boys if they are gay and girls if they are pregnant.

The attempt to help fix suicides is OK but perhaps you should do a video about prevention and the blamer.

  • I agree. Depression and or suicidal intent can happen to anyone regardless of "weak" or "strong."

  • While not believing in god, at least you believe in the value of your own life and of others and in sacrificng yourself for others. This is a good thing.

  • Hi sir, i recognize myself in what you say about suicide. As you may know(aware of my own believes) i don't believe in god. but i also don't believe in suicide as well, why because suicide is for weak human beings===>Slaves wannabee. If i really want to die, i would give my life for someone else to be able to live.
