Here's a short clip of Steve's maiden flight with the new Rabid Models B-29 Superfortress. This model has an 8-foot wingspan and is a foamie! Powered by four "blue wonder" motors and one 3-cell 2200mah battery, the model is extremely light for its size. The first flight proved that the model is capable of excellent flight. The indoor flying venue is the GaREAT sports complex in Geneva Ohio! There were significant obstacles on the field, including a fence and a trash can - which forced a very tight landing pattern. The model slowed down faster than anticipated and Steve recovered but then had to endure a very hard landing. This broke the nose wheel strut, but the model suffered no structural damage. So we will fix that and continue working on it to finish up the cowls and twin bomb bays - and we'll post a new video when we do the next flight!

  • Since it only weighs about 3 lbs and has an 8-foot wingspan, that is the reason it doesn't need to fly fast. It's much easier to fly, too.
