I know too that lipstick has lead!

I have been getting hot flashes and Im only 35! I use black eyeliner on my lips which i learnt has a lot of lead and i have been using it for a long time. I did my research and found out that lead poisoning affects the hypothalamus which causes rapid heartbeat, excessive sweating etc. It also affected my cycle. I hope more women view this video or at least learn about lead and makeup and don't let lead slowly poison them like it did to me.

@randyraven It seems like you are not listening carefully to her words and responding with emotion. She is saying (repeatedly) that this is probably not going to kill you and that lead is everywhere.
The point is that when people know what they're faced with, they can make individual decisions on what's best for them. You can argue that GMOs and antibiotics in food won't kill you either, but it's something many people like to be informed of. Do you just enjoy ignorance?

@CostOfBeauty You don't have to reiterate, I heard everything you said. And it's this VERY POINT that I find disingenuous and morally backward. Telling people that something might contribute to something potentially bad in their bodies how how it does it, creates a Mass Psychogenic Illness. I compared you to the antivaxers because it's exactly what they do and why infants are currently dying of preventable illness.

@CostOfBeauty "Please do not say your comment has facts, when it is clearly just opinions." Same to your video. You don't have to repeat what you said, I heard every last word. You're doing the Conspiracy Theorist style "I'm just the one asking questions? Will it hurt you? I don't know, you decide. I'm just asking questions. Don't get mad at me."
It's repulsive.

@onionbabecc Like anything you use there's dangers to lipbalms. The danger of chapstick and lipbalm is a potential addiction but the chance is so minimal you don't have to worry about it. There's nothing in it that might hurt you in any way. It can cause people with already compulsive tenancies to go overboard in application and consumption. That's it.
Just like everything, there's small risks. You don't have to worry about Lipbalm, Chapstick or Lipstick.

@Hearts4marigolds The bottom line is that there has never been a single recorded case of anyone anywhere getting lead poisoning from lipstick. Why bring up that there's a minute amount? Is it even a question? If it's not going to hurt us, why say anything? Putting the thought in your head that something you use everyday might kill you without anything to back it up, is enough for me to consider this video repugnant. There's a better chance you choke on your lipstick then getting lead poisoning.

@CostOfBeauty Hey, I'm just relaying information here. I'm not taking sides at all. It's up to you to decide what's right or wrong. I'm just giving you the facts as I see it and letting you decide.
@randyraven I have to reiterate that in the video I said that lipstick is not THE reason for lead poisoning, but it is a factor in our everyday lives. Everything that contains lead that is inhaled or ingested does circulate the body and adds up because it is reservoir-ed in our bones. If enough adds up, it can lead to lead poisoning. We are already surpassing the recommended amount. If we already know that something has lead in it, AND we can reasonably avoid it, then why not?

@randyraven Please do not say your comment has facts, when it is clearly just opinions. You're right, it is up to the individual themselves to decide what's right or wrong. I told people my opinion, but also include my resources from where I drew the conclusion. They can read it and interpret it their own way too. I already knew people would disagree with me more on this topic. :P Thank you for your comment.

@onionbabecc I meant to say maximum amount of lead in color additives. :( Sorry!

@onionbabecc I do not believe there's lead in chapsticks or lipbalms, but I couldn't find any studies that conclusively say that there isn't. The reason certain lipsticks has lead is mainly because of the use of certain color additives more so than equipment lead contamination. Another fact that I didn't say in the video is that the FDA has a maximum amount for color additives only in specific products such as lipstick and hair dye. It is 20 ppm, while Canada's is 10 ppm.

@randyraven I did say how much lead there is in lipstick. I also did say that amount isn't going to adversely affect it if we apply lipstick. I said that applying it in general is not going to hurt us because it is not easily absorbed, but only when it is ingested. I also that the daily amount of lead exposure is high enough already than the recommended amount, so if we logically CAN cut back on lead exposure, then why not. I do not see how that is false conclusions, bad logic, or ignorance.
