I listened to your review again and I understand where your coming from. Like mastodon with the hunter you have Serj tankian with imperfect harmonies. It's a good album and I was wondering what your opinion is on his music.

I loved your review and your open mind on music. I myself enjoy orchestral/rock/classical but mostly metal. Out of all the bands I enjoy mastodon is in my top 20 I loved crack the Skye my favorite mastodon album. Have you heard of Megadeth if not definitely check them out they are awesome. But also I agree with your thoughts on music in general. Either way nice review

spot on review. mastodon is definitely one of those bands that transcend genre

Funny thing is that I love this album. You can catch me driving down the road yelling "you're on fiyahhhhhh!" at least once a week.

Imperfect harmonies is a great album and really blew my mind. The fusion of electric/jazz/orchestral/rock, all kinds of stuff. That is what really makes this an album that sits in a genre by itself. Serj also has a brilliant voice that you never got to really hear in SOAD. let me know how you liked the album :)
