PS3 Flashing Red/Yellow Light - Call Sony Fix and 60GB Problem

According to Sony a flashing red light is a overheated power supply/system problem and not a HDD. Sony - (EU) Number: 08705998877 . I was informed that i only get my ONLINE data because its on a server but i lose all the data on the HDD.This Happened to my PS3 60GB model with an External Fan and a stand, it was 2 years old with expired gurantee meaning i payed £145 for a Refurbished PS3. Tips: keep clean - Take Game out at all costs!! - and if you do then Call Sony and hopefully u will be sent a free fixed one (or £145).

I took a blow dryer to mine on the rear exhaust vents for 15min and on high for 5 with the HD removed. PS3 cooled for about 20min. Put HD back in and it works like new. You might want to give it a try before spending 195 by sending it in. Don't apply heat to long or u might melt something like the internal fans. Easy fix.

That worked in getting my disc back from my PS3 that just now died that I've had since launch. I take it the blinking red light means go get a new PS3...

@sonicGTA you mean if my ps3 pops a YLOD its just a hard drive problem so it would be fixed if i replace it for another??? sounds like an easy way to fix it

@infiniteobscure @tantonbo1 he isn't fucked, its a hard drive problem, it still means it can be fixed, you just need 2 get out the hard drive and replace it

can leaving your cd in a non turning on playstation 3 actually damage the playstation even more (the longer its left in there)?

NOTE: To get the disc out, turn off the ps3 in the back. Then place one finger over the power button and one over the eject button. Now turn the ps3 back on while keeping your fingers on the button. The fan should activate and start blowing air out of the back. Then, hit the eject buttons. The disc should pop out. This works on the older models for sure, not sure on the newer ones. Thumbs up so people can see this and get their game back!!!
