The world's first (?) solar-powered paddlewheel boat, called the New Era, filmed during a test run on the Caledonian Canal in the Highlands of Scotland. http://www.spanglefish.com/newera
The music with this clip is "My Little Welsh Home" (Traditional), played on the harp by my friend Carol and used here with her permission. Thanks Carol!

With a more sailing scow type design with smooth flowing rocker from bow to stern, she'd go through the water with less fuss and much more efficiently...

See all that splashing ? Compare the paddle wheel to a duck's propulsion... I reckon future boats will use duck-feet type paddles... so smooth, elegant and efficient. You saw it here first :):)
