Since their invention 25 years ago, light sticks are perfect as safety lights because they're portable, cheap and they emit a ghostly glow. Light sticks by Cyalume are of high quality and is a reliable source of light.

@haranghy If you place a used glow stick in hot (not boiling) water then
you will get more light out of it for a short time due to a chemical reaction and
it is completely safe!

@meltdownman1 yes you can use them underwater, and they will probably hold longer than you...

Can scuba divers take these on a dive? If so what depth can these be used at without initiating the glow stick. These would be great for diving shipwrecks or situations stranded on the surface.
