Sleeper is the british term for a tie

The hooks on the new tie are actually metal fittings for clips. A rail clip holds the rail to the new tie, instead of spikes, since the new tie is concrete and spikes would just break it. The metal is pre-cast into the concrete

  • @eastindiaman I just did 12 ties by hand yesterday! Id kill for this machine lol and what is a sleeper? I never seen ties with these hooks or what not on em ..

  • How do you ensure spacing and squaring of the ties? How many ties can be replaced in say, an hour? Is this done taking traffic block in running lines? Is so, how many hours is the mine blocked and traffic is restored at what speeds?

  • Seen enough driver, get yer time sheet your doon the road

  • sure is a loud broad in the background...

  • I worked for BCL i never saw this combination of wet bed and grab working, and the driver is slow as fook

  • Very slow!!!!
