(September 20, 2007) The Colombian FARC is one of the oldest and best equipped insurgencies in the world. They've kidnapped hundreds of people, sometimes holding them for a decade or more. When one man walked across the nation in protest, a million Colombians joined in. Now, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has offered to negotiate with the FARC - an offer refused by Colombian President Uribe.

No one who loves freedom can be at Farc's side. Chavez is a president that is searching for popularity and a common enemy to blame for everything that he is doing wrong with Venezuela. Uribe is doing a good job, at least we don't feel afraid to go inside our country.

Farc is not the army of the colombians, they are the army of killing people, kidnapping, destroying our forrest growing drugs, putting mines so colombians can lose a leg, an arm or may be thier lives.

Let me tell you something about Farc and their disgusting Narcoterrorist organization. I will not deny that this organization was probably erected because of the oppresion of capitalism in Colombia, but come one, lets be realistic, this happened almost 5 decades ago.

But yes Chavez still has some supporters and im not denying that. You do claim it because on my last comment you had the nerve to say you knew more than me. OK, listen I know the people from these barrios and they are PREDOMINANTLY affiliated with the AUC which is a guerilla against FARC. Although the AUC proved to be corrupt too, kidnapping, raping, murdering people of their own social status just like FARC does. Don't try to argue I've seen it, and I've lived it. The real revolutianary people in Colombia are the Democratic Pole members and the Liberal Party that opposes the authoritarian policis of this goverment in a democratic way. No ideology allow anybody to use violence against anyone

The people who join FARD did so because it's a well paid job, the same people then join paramiliary groups. Even in some area left-wing guerrillas and right-wing paramilitary groups cooperates for drug traficking... so man, forget about this idiots as revolutionaries, they're not.

2) The goverments of colombia both liberals and conservatives have negotiated with other guerrillas such as the M19 and they joined colombian democracy (current governor of Nariño and Bogota's Mayor are examples) )

I don't agree with the current goverment policies, I symphatize with the Democratic Alternative Pole (left wing). But let me tell you that 1) FARC do not represents the poorest people of Colombia, they're millionaire drug lords that actually have produce poverty, displacement and human right abuses troughout their history, !

I don't claim to know all about FARC, but I do know that I shouldn't judge them on the American media's say-so. FARC exists because your government's were never interested in the poorest people, especially in rural areas. Anyway the fact that you are using a computer shows how much you have. Would landless peasants or those who live in the Barrios have one? No. It's those people that still join FARC. I'd like to see peace, but how when you just call FARC "terrorists"?

Thta's odd, since in Venezuela in the last vote the opposition parties didn't complain that the voting was rigged. I don't see how Chavez can be called corrupt just because he stands up for the ordinary people. The Americans have been saying how corrupt Cuba is, or how it's falling apart, but it's all lies. And yes I do know about it because my uncle is a foreign secretry of the SSP who went on an official visit there. It showed me just how much bullshit the media talk.
