Do you have the part where Andy lets Otis fake that he is a sheriff (because his brother is coming into town).  Barney then trains Otis on how to be a proper sheriff like saluting. They salute and Otis hits barney's hand.

@50zcarsman Yes, I was (and am, at 28 years old now!) a lifelong Adventures in Odyssey fan and I was so sad when he died. They replaced Hal with an actor, Paul Herlinger, who sounds quite a bit like him and is very talented, but there's only one Hal Smith and it was never quite the same.

@50zcarsman Well, you're a bit behind the times, sad to say! Hal DID some nice work on Adventures in Odyssey, but that ended 18 years ago when he died in January 1994. (I don't think there was any other Christian kids' radio program he did except Odyssey, either.)

Best Otis Campbell ep was when Otis was found to be related to Mayberry's founder, or one of NC's Signers, or some such, and he had to attend a huge public gathering and make a speech. Barney, Aunt Bee, even his own wife weren't confident of his ability to pull himself together and get through it, but he did. Great, heartwarming commentary on the need for trust in one's fellow man. Hal Smith is doing voice work on Christian kids' radio programs now, esp. the excellent "Adventures in Odyssey."
