  • true but if you barley use the reins why do you need a pelhman?

and you still dont have any conection but know im off of that because i understand that even thought it doesnt matter whatt your horses you have a lot to worry about like if he is cantering on the counter lead to jump 7.... but why a pelham

  • @DressageGirly1 I don't know. Ask the rider's trainer's why the horses go best in those bits

  • @stupidblond428a well i saw the eq finals on usef.org and everyone was in a pelham but 1 girl

  • @DressageGirly1 I don't know what to tell you..I'm not the one that decides what bits the horses use.

  • @BeachHorses369 They're only showing at 3'6"? Their knees don't go out...these horses are treated like ROYALTY at home and are constantly cared for...Logan is now 17 or maybe older and he is still doing the big eq.

  • i have to agree with some people on here. i have absolutely no right to criticize brianna goutal because i will never be able to ride like her. she's like an equitation god, but I don't think this is her best at all. I thinkshe could do better to sit down on her horse more, keep her hands straight up and down (no piano hands) and at a couple times her arms came way out and she needed to keep her elbows in a bit more. i think she really owned it at the maclay though. that was one of her best!! • @DressageGirly1 99% of riders use pelhams not because they need to, but because it's the style. most, if not all, of the big eq horses could easily go in a simple snaffle.

  • @DressageGirly1 hmm true

  • @DressageGirly1 Well dressage, the horses are required to be on the bit and you're required to have a connection. and for the eq horses, they just go in the bit that they go best in. and it's a snaffle..so it doesn't hurt them or anything. Plus the rider's hands are very soft, so in no way do the bits cause discomfort for the horses

  • @stupidblond428a Cont- connection with the horses mouth and are more capable of doing more things. and thats when i dont under stand why you need a pelham if there reins are soo lose and disconected

  • @stupidblond428a i did not say there is anything worng with any trained horse, and you are totally correct about your distancess and the level of perfection. i am an eventer and i think personally perfecting how you and your horse and looking for your own distances away from the letters always preparing is a smidge harder than jumping. but when it comes to all the thinking about eq and all the thinking you do in dressage eq and dressage are totally even. but the dressage riders have better (con)

  • @DressageGirly1 What's wrong with a horse being well trained? And equitation is more than just looking nice..you have to find your distances and make the course look smooth WHILE having perfect equitation. I do dressage and I've done a 3rd level test before..I can honestly say jumping is harder than dressage (in my opinion). My scores were low-mid 60's though haha
