the panason sd100 has 3 x 1/6 inch cmos sensors, which panasonis have called a '3mos' system. the quality in low light is poor because these sensors are only 1/6", compared with the sanyo's 1/2.5" sensor

@BabyNSX Oh, there is actually a point where you are right: Of course you can tell which one captures lighter pictures in low light, but when you talk about quality in low light, than what I say sets in.

@BabyNSX I am not sure if you really don't know. But let me tell you with a few words and see for yourself: Pick a video that is on youtube in 1080p. Watch it. Do the same with the same video in lower qualities - you will see: more grain the lower the quality is. That means: If there are changes in different settings and even if there is no grain in full resolution, when rendered down to 360 with youtube, you can't tell a diffrence any more.
Having the video only in 360p, that does not realy help to compare them.

doesnt the SD100 have CMOS sensors not CCD? is this the SD9?

yes because the 3ccd (panasonic and all) ) in dark no god but 3ccd in sun or mach shine the best
