It looks like it actually falls into a spin, wouldn't that rule out the 'incipient'?

It's actually a 'spiral dive'. They're mostly common in high-wing aircraft; low wings like the PA-28's don't drop the wing.

@ansionnachcliste Phwoar, I think I've felt it before. I'll keep an eye out for it next time and try not to crap my pants lol. Cheers.

@ansionnachcliste They're fun! The pilot has to be pitching up the plane quite steeply to achieve a stall, and planes are equiped with warning noise, it sounds as you're coming close to a stall! As a passenger it just feels like the plane is in a steepish climb, and you can feel it slowing down until it reaches the point where it cannot climb any steeper, and you can feel the plane drop slightly. it's feels a bit like turbulence, unless a wing drops like in this vid then it sppinnnsss! :)

@SuperMegnificent Ah ok, thank you for your insight. Sounds scary, but I'm sure pilots are trained for these situations. Can you predict a stall? What about on larger passenger planes? Would passengers notice a stall? Thank you :).

@ansionnachcliste When a plane stalls the engine is still running, unlike a car where it just stops. So it isn't like the engine is failing, it's just that there isn't enough airflow going over the wings to keep it going up! And in instances like this, during a stall one wing drops before the other resulting in a roll, but can be rectified with a bit of rudder use. Stalls aren't dangerous if you are at a high altitude, and pilots can recover from them almost instantly. :)

When a plane stalls, do you drop faster? I know that the wings can keep you up for so long but what do you feel? I'm not too great when flying :(.
-
like every plane dont attempt to recover quickly below takeoff speed. It has to buld up airspeed and get enough air going over the wings to overcome the weight of the plane.

@eightshakes im 11 and i went with my uncle cause he flys and he stalled it made my stomack drop at first but the second time it was alrite
-
Only half a spin... I'd like to see a proper stall turn, now that's awesome

lol was that in the bermuda triangle?
Once you get through that tickle feeling, I think you would find it adrenaline pumping.
