The Cross is the reason for everything!

Barry, I think I am more worried about you getting discouraged, than myself, I only wanted you to be happy bro, because I know what you went through, I am fine bro, all this 1666 is doing is retardation, I never said the cross was not nessasary, once again 1689tardist twist my words, and he knows what I mean, he is just unhappy and seeking constant attention...peace bro barry..
How can he deny saying it when I have him with his own video recording saying exactly that.

  • Hey 1689 Baptist, would you be able to recommend any good material on covenant theology?

  • Sadly the dispensational scheme of interpreting prophecy chops the Bible up into little pieces. They then feel free to discard the portions they feel don't pertain to them. Some of them even say that nothing Jesus said is for us today because He said these things under the law. That is unfortunate. Does this person not realize that everything that happens is foreordained by God? Jesus came to die for His sheep. He sounds very confused. Good video.

  • @1689Baptist That choice has been made for you. Nothing you do happens without God having so ordained it. Therefore, saying one must 'persevere' in his faith is wholly incongruous with Calvinism. Perseverence means action. Human action. The will to persevere. It has, however no influence on either election or reprobation. Furthermore, to compare something material, like a plane, with the immaterial, the human soul and nature, which according to you is totally depraved, does not ad up.

  • @TennesseeOwnsMyBones Did I not say the means to get to China was also decreed, so why are you arguing this point as if I said otherwise? But the MEANS are not irrelevant, b/c without the MEANS the END does not exist.

  • @1689Baptist That is still irrelevant. It is not HOW you will get there, it is THAT you will get there, for it has been decreed. And that means, logically, that you taking a plane instead of a boat or whatnaught, is all part of that decree, as EVERYTHING is predestined by your god, right? Anyway: if God has decreed you to go to China, you WILL be in China. The means of transportation is indeed irrelevant, as that has been decreed as well. It is not your own choice.

  • @TennesseeOwnsMyBones It makes perfect sense when you understand God has decrees the means as well as the end. Example, God has decreed that I will go to China, and He has also decreed that I get on a plane to do so. By your definition b/c God has decreed that I go to China the means of me getting there is irrelevant, when the means of me getting there is just as important or I could get there.

  • @1689Baptist That still makes no sense. If one's election is solid, unchangeable and eternal, perseverence is dead wood. If memory serves me right, one of the calvinist main beliefs is that one can never lose his salvation. Salvation being a result of election. Ergo, whatever humans do pertaining to election, is completely irrelevant

  • @TennesseeOwnsMyBones Persevere is what the elect do, those that do not persevere are not the elect. You do not persevere to become the elect, nor do you persevere to remain the elect. We persevere b/c we ARE the elect. Does a dog bark to become a dog, or to remain a dog? Or does a dog bark B/C he is a dog?

  • @GospelPerverter Then what is the point of perseverence?
