@pcmiler2000 there was never a DC-11 they have always been MD-11. the dc-10s were upgraded to md-10s.

If updated to MD-10s.
FedEx brought a fleet of old DC-10s and DC-11s and upgraded them to MD-10s and MD-11s.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines still operates DC-10-30s on their ultra-long haul flights: Dhaka (Bangladesh)-New Delhi (India)-Manchester (UK)-New York (USA) route... Their jets are from 1970s they leased from other airlines decades ago and are still using them on their this long route.

you know people just because an aircraft has flew one day does not mean it needs to be replaced right away. New is not always better. you all have to stop thinking one dimensional there are three other sides to the business than fuel savings. Paid for aircraft with a few miles on it is a lot better than a new aircraft with a huge loan on it weighing you down. I'd turn a profit running an airline with dc-10s, dc-9's and 727's that were PAID for every month.
