http://www.cultretro.com See a skull-faced maniac attack with his atomic death ray over 12 atomically-charged chapters!! The Cyclotrode, a powerful counter-atomic device is stolen by the master criminal, THE CRIMSON GHOST, who turns his fearsome energies against the United States. Ace crimebuster Duncan Richards (CHARLES QUIGLEY) joins with Diana Farnsworth (serial queen LINDA STIRLING) to battle this villain and his henchman, Ashe (CLAYTON MOORE, TV's LONE RANGER) through 12 thrilling cliffhanger episodes of the 1946 Republic Pictures black & white release. Directed by William Witney and Fred C. Bannon.
Colorization does nothing for this serial. First off, Linda Stirling was a dark brunette and color makes her hair lighter. The somber blacks and greys give the serial more mystery. Color is just added for those people who feel that it makes the movie more up to date. Originally these serials were shown in 12-15 episodes, one a week, lasting about 12 minutes each. You really can't get the true flavor if you sit and watch the whole thing at one sitting. It would take about 41/2 hours.
