Professor Mearsheimer will discuss his article by the same name from the January/February 2011 Issue of The National Interest. In the article, he considers the decline of US foreign policy from end of the Cold War to the "world of trouble" now: two protracted wars, nuclear stalemates in Iran and North Korea, and the inability to bring about a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

  • Surgically precise.

This should be necessary lecture for anyone who is interested in what is US doing right now.

Respect to professor Mearsheimer, and thanks to uploader.

  • wonderful.

  • They weren't in the Middle East to spread Democracy, they were there for OIL. They support every single dictator in the Middle East financially, and Militarily. Throughout the history of the Middle East, every time a country successfully developed a democracy, the government was toppled either directly by the help of the Western states, or through proxy groups!

  • a towering figure in international relations smashing lecture many thanks for posting.

  • John Mearsheimer and other political science professors should be the ones directing the country policies, not the bribed imbeciles in power.

  • Awesome lecture. Thanks for posting.
