I spent much of the pre-match countdown changing the items to the ones for the competition, which is themed on the original Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64. Naturally, the only characters allowed are the 12 who were in the original game, and the same goes for the only items allowed. The stages permitted are Final Destination, Battlefield, Corneria, and Brinstar, as they closely resemble stages from the original game.

The first match puts me up against LuigiFan, also known as Euphonious91 on YouTube. He had just recently returned and apparently itching to see how good I am. I've seen his reputation in the past, and he's not one to be taken lightly. So I didn't.

Match #1
Yoshi
Corneria
When I was playing through Subspace Emissary trying to get the boss trophies, Yoshi was a character I chose to train with, since his down A aerial does a tremendous amount of damage. I also beat Galleom on Intense over and over to get some Coins. Because of that, Yoshi is one of my stronger characters. I thought I'd lose in this one, since LuigiFan, naturally, is best with Luigi, and he was more than formidable in some matches I had here. I guess with the chaos dying down (the previous room was 4 players large), I could compose myself a bit better.

Match #2
Jigglypuff
Final Destination
I've been getting better with Jigglypuff lately. I'm not sure what's happening. I think I'm feeling a lot less lag as of late, which has allowed me to do a better air game, and naturally, Jigglypuff is a lot stronger in the air than on the ground. Of course, in Final Destination, your air game isn't as useful as anywhere else, since there's just one singular flat platform. Still, look at that create go, after Bonsly touched it! That was pretty clever of LuigiFan to use the Fire Flower to repel my Hammer, and in the end, it came down to Sudden Death. There was almost no lag, and it allowed me to turn Rollout around just in time.

  • I've never played SSB64 but I have played melee and brawl. And if you haven't played melee. it's much more fast paced than brawl.

  • @Majorasword64 I've played all of the Smash Bros. games.
