  • do you learn all these songs by tab?

you know like... all his hard hitters.

    fuck.

do you have any of your own compostions?

  • I tab all of them myself. Thanks for watching!

  • What kind of Banjo is this? You sound awesome!

  • Thanks!

    It's a Deering Sierra....in a very odd tuning. =)

  • Cool chimes!!!! You're in E tuning, right?

  • No, not even close. Tune the 1st string up to a D#, then tune the 2nd to the 1st string, and the 3rd to the 2nd both at the fifth fret. 4th string is tuned down to a C and the 5th string is a G#. These tunings are precisely to achieve certain harmonics. It may have a designation, possibly something in Am. Not a tuning I hang around in very much. =)

  • Oh. Either way it sounds amazing. I really wish I could play as good as you. Do you play other stuff besides Bela stuff? It would be interesting to see you do a Scruggs song or something.

  • Don't sell yor self short.

  • Not remotely.

  • You may just be a s good as Bela.
