  • Hi Randy,

    Another great video and yu brought back a flood of memories of my own Amateur Radio past from 1970 as a 14 year old teen. Now at 54 still loving the hobby.

    Wonder if you are married and what Mr's AGE thinks of your hobby. My wife Donna has been a great sport.

    73,

    Glenn

  • Mrs AGE allows me to pretty much as I want. I am lucky. She wishes I would do some more chores around the house!

  • Hi Randy,

    Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Looks like you and your father had some nice amateur equipment . Didnt you ever get the urge to call a CQ with that Johnson Invader on the novice bands when you had ur novice license?? Hi Hi.Take care,

    W3ETF

  • Nope, I have my Heath and an Ameco. Wished I had kept the Ameco, those are worth a lot of money these days.

  • In the first picture you show, it looks

    like an NC300 with converters they were

    using for the VHF contest...

  • That sounds about right! My dad built the 100 W AM transmitter.

  • That was great! Randy. Wish I kind of had the hams in my past but I'm the first. Maybe my kids at some point will get involved.

  • I love this video. Nice story. I`ll take a look at more video`s later. I SUBSCRIBE for sure. I got my license desember 2010

  • that was awesome !!!

    Can't wait to get licensed!~!!!!

  • Enjoyed the nostalgia. As a kid, having your own space in the house to explore your hobby was important. Imagine having a tower & quad at that age!
