Dr. Γ. Σκρέκας MD posted: Nissen fundoplication is the most effective surgery for pathologic gastroesophageal reflux. However, the classic Nissen fundic wrap sometimes results in a discomfort situation known as postfundoplication syndrome. The symptoms are dysphagia, belching inability and gastric or esophageal pains. The floppy Nissen is the technique which achieves the primary goal of control of pathologic reflux while minimizes the chance for unpleasant sequelae.
