According to Save the Children, there are still 240,000 people living in the Irrawaddy Delta who do not have adequate access to drinking water and water for domestic use.
Save the Children currently delivers water to 66,000 people across the region by boat. The water is made from salty water which undergoes a process known as reverse osmosis and is then treated to make it safe to drink.
While thousands of people depend on the water Save the Children delivers to survive, they are encouraging them to return to their traditional methods of collecting rain water to drink when the monsoon starts in a few weeks time to ensure they don't become dependent on aid.
