Looks like this was posted back in 2007. Now that you've owned it for a couple of years, might be interesting to post a new video, to hear how it's opened up.
Great tone to start with.........which is amazing to me, since I hadn't really much of an opinion about this manufacturers product.

This thing sounds bad ass....a lot like a high end Yairi.

Hey guy - I just sent you a video response. I ran across this video about a week ago and the little lick at the beginning inspired me to come up with a song. Hope you like it!

Tone sounds awesome and you sound damn good yourself. What's the name of that tune.

Great playing, nice guitar! ("Hold on a minute...")

@craigschirato Did they make Larrivee guitars in 1957?

Beautiful

Beautiful guitar, both visually and tonally. I had a D-60 for a couple years. Definitely the prettiest guitar I've ever owned - IMHO there is no beating Larrivee for fit and finish. I ultimately sold it, though, as I tend to prefer mahogany.

Great playing man! Great sounding guitar too!!! What was that, "pretty polly?"
Very nice! Why Larrivee over a Gibson, Martin or Taylor?

@1Ronners
Hi I chose the Larrivee as the cost was way cheaper than gibson or martin plus I own a martin D-35 already and a handbuilt Rosewood Dreadnaught that sounds as good or better than any D-28 martin I've ever played

I was using Elixir Nanoweb Mediums I think they were 11-56 gauges? I can't remember it's been a while! Thanks for watching and for the great comments

Hey, I was curious how loud this guitar is? I am looking at getting one of these because my gurrent guitar gets drowned out in flatpicking sessions. What did you compare this guitar with?
Great playing! --John

I compared this mainly to a Martin D-18V as the mohagany wood is used on both guitars and I played a Collings D-1 the day before! I can honestly say dollar for dollar Martin or Collings does not make a guitar that sounds/plays this good for the cost of this D-50 Larrivee! When you come to a case such as this you would have to have money to throw away to buy the higher end guitars over this one!When I have more time I will explain better as to not offend Martin owners on this touchy subject

This guitar plays and projects louder than my hand made pre war design rosewood dreadnaught with adirondack top almost like a piano so easy to play!
