Upset for ruling coalition in Malaysia elections - 08 Mar 08

Malaysia's Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi appears to have been returned to power in general elections, but there have been major swings against his ruling coalition.

Significantly they have come from the minority ethnic Chinese and Indian vote. The Indians had staged rare protests in Malaysia over what they say was discrimination.

The result will severely dent the ruling coalition's majority in Parliament, and could change forever the dynamics of Malaysian politics.

Malaysia is a rich country, yet while I was there, I still see a lot of poor people living in the streets, or trying to make ends meet, Economically it may be rich, but it's still like living in a 3rd world society in some areas, If Malaysia has so much money why can't they make their water clean. Same goes for the U.S, it seems to be going down the same path as Malaysia.

Malaysia is a developed and rich country! It's peaceful too and independent.In my opinion there're no problem there.ppl is receiving a far better benefit and more stable life than the other countries (say like my homeland Vietnam)!

Malaysian should know they're far luckier and have a better life than most of other ppl in ASEAN!
