I used to have one of the vandoreen optimum ligatures until I got a Theo Wanne Enlightened ligature with all the different pressure plates (like the optimum ligature). The theo wanne ligature freed up the sound more than the optimum ligature at least on the mouthpiece I was using... the optimum ligature was good for classical on my selmer C** s80 and on my Eugene rousseau mouthpiece.
